Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion but also the largest and most powerful planet in the solar system is on the move this month and this means that there will be a major shift in focus. Jupiter will leave your income sector in the early days of the month and gone by 3rd December this will end a 13 month visit that woke you up to potential and possibilities as well as having constructed the framework for ongoing growth. However, with the Sun in your income sector until 22nd December, Mercury here from 9th December to 29th December and Mars returning in the New Year, you haven't even begun to explore the full potential. The last Full Moon of 2019 will fall in your financial sector on 12th December and while this will see the Moon clash with the Sun and Mercury in your income sector, this will provide the motivation to exploit the potential Jupiter has left you with. This will also be a chance to take care of any financial housekeeping, with the Full Moon falling in the money house that is more focused on what you do with and how you manage the money you have. As Jupiter and the other planets leave your income sector, they will join a growing amount of planetary activity on the communication front and this will have huge and positive implications on the relationship front. In the meantime, while your birthday month ended last month, you not only have Mercury in Scorpio until 9th December but Mars will spend the whole month here. Held back by a retrograde turn last month, instead of moving through Scorpio in 14 to 15 days, Mercury will have been here for over two months by the time he leaves, giving you additional time to make choices, decisions and plans for your new solar year. With Mars not leaving until early January, he will spend the remainder of his time in Scorpio fuelling your passion, drives and competitive spirit. This will give you an empowered end to this year and start to 2020.
Week beginning Monday 9th of December 2019
It is less a case of despite the bumpy start things take a turn for the better by Tuesday and more because of the bumpy start. Monday is the point where Mercury finally wraps up an over two month visit to Scorpio, with a retrograde turn last month keeping him here well beyond the 14 to 15 days he will normally spend here. During that time Mercury has helped to keep your head in the game and your feet on the ground and that has been an advantage for you but not for Mars. When Mercury leaves Mars will become like a dog off his leash, with the warrior planet of the cosmos ready to make up for lost time, as he encourages you to throw yourself into everything that excites you. It is a clash between the Moon and Mars on Monday that could create some temporary frustration but also some tension, creating the right burst in motivation at the right time. Meanwhile, a similar thing will happen with a Full Moon in your financial sector on Thursday, this time creating motivation on the income and financial fronts.
Monday 9th of December 2019
There could be a lot of strong emotional and passionate responses on both the personal and relationship fronts today, along with the potential for some relationship tension and the timing couldn't be better. This intensity is coming from an opposition between the Moon in your relationship sector and Mars in Scorpio, though any strong emotional responses are likely to come from old triggers. What makes the timing auspicious is that during Mercury, the planet of communication's final hours in Scorpio, he is on hand to give your emotional responses and relationships a voice.
Scorpio is the eighth sign of the zodiac, traditionally ruled by the red planet Mars, who was the mythological Roman god of war and fertility.
Your sign is a steadfast, sensuous, deep feeling water sign and your symbol is the scorpion which has a paralysing, sometimes deadly, stinger at the end of its tail. This gets your sign some stingy bad press, but only from those who don't know your true scorpio ways.
Like your good self, scorpions are extremely resilient, they survive in a wide variety of habitats, including tropical forests, deserts and places of extreme temperatures. They move furtively on the ground and hide under leaves and rocks, or bury themselves in sandy soil.
A scorpion is tiny and will usually only sting to defend itself. If you were to corner a live one and poke it repeatedly with a stick, you might see it arch its tail across its back and literally sting itself to death. This little arachnid would rather commit suicide than allow anyone to torment or ridicule it. This says something profound about your profound sign.
You may be ruled by a red planet but it's unlikely to be the predominant colour in your wardrobe, although some attribute red to your sign. You usually incline towards smart blacks and midnight blues, you prefer to blend in. A real scorpion likes to hide, which is difficult in a bright red sweater!
Your sign is of fixed modality, which means that you have great tenacity and staying power in most situations but, like the scorpion, if you feel threatened or ridiculed in any situation, your natural impulse is to abruptly end it!
In modern day astrology, the rulership of your sign has also been assigned to the dwarf planet Pluto. This planet may be tiny but we should not underestimate it. Pluto rules atomic power!
With mighty Mars and power planet Pluto as your co-rulers, yours is the most deeply passionate sign. You feel things acutely and your feelings run deep, but your desire to stay hidden means that you rarely show the emotional storms and tempests when they happen within.
Your innate character is to be steadfast, trustworthy and loyal. You play your cards close to your chest and often leave others mystified. Your sign rules birth, death, sex, regeneration, transformation and all of our shared resources and secrets. You're one of the best at keeping secrets, especially your own!
Many Scorpios have strong psychic ability and others will become concerned with the psyche, to become hypnotherapists and psychotherapists. You are suited to a number of professions, we might find you working in a hospital or bank, at the butchers or in demolition. Whatever you do, you generally do with commitment.
You get along best with the other water signs, Cancer and Pisces and the earth signs of Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn, but this can be mitigated by the influence of other planets in your horoscope, particularly your ruling planet Mars.
If you don't know which sign Mars was transiting when you were born, or you'd like to know more about your horoscope, one of our astrologers will be pleased to help you.
